Overall Aim
The overall aim of the Summit is to drive meaningful systemic change by ensuring mental health considerations, viewed through an equitable lens, are embedded in Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews and criminal justice responses. It will promote culturally responsive, trauma-informed care and equitable interventions for all communities.
Primary Objectives
Although mental health significantly impacts domestic violence-related homicides across all communities, it remains frequently overlooked or misunderstood, particularly for marginalised and underrepresented groups. This Summit will bring together stakeholders from multiple sectors to explore how we can ensure mental health considerations are integrated into DARDRs and justice system responses in a culturally competent, trauma-informed, and equitable way.
The Summit has four primary objectives:

Raise Awareness:
- Increase understanding of the role of mental health in DARDRs across diverse communities, particularly its impact on addressing and preventing domestic abuse and violence.

Advocate for Equitable, Mental Health-Informed Justice:
- Promote justice system practices that are sensitive to mental health issues and equitable for individuals from all backgrounds, especially those from underrepresented groups.

Identify Systemic Barriers:
- Explore obstacles to the integration of culturally responsive mental health practices in DARDRs and criminal justice responses and develop strategies to address them.

Foster Collaboration:
- Build partnerships across sectors to embed diverse mental health expertise into policy, practice, and review processes
